Imelda J Golik, AIA

President Imelda Jebian Golik of Fresno Sister Cities International in 2023. Her extensive experience and dedication to promote international relations are truly commendable. Imelda’s background in serving as Vice President since 2016 brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to fostering international relationships and cultural exchanges and demonstrating, exceptional dedication to our organization's mission.

 

One of the remarkable aspects of Imelda’s journey has been their extensive engagement with Fresno's sister cities, making them a seasoned advocate for international collaboration. She visited Verona three times, forging meaningful educational connections and enhancing our sister city relationship. also played a pivotal role in taking students from California State University, Fresno, on educational study programs to Verona, enriching the academic experiences of countless young minds. Her involvement extends far beyond Verona. As a delegate and a traveling professor, she has partnered with the Muenster School of Design, fostering cross-cultural understanding and academic exchange. Imelda, also had the distinct honor of representing the Mayor's office during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the City of Chateauroux, France, further cementing the international ties of Fresno. In addition to their regional commitments, she has acted as a delegate to Kochi, Japan, the oldest sister of Fresno, further emphasizing the significance of nurturing these historic international bonds.


Furthermore, her upcoming plans to visit the City of Etchmiadzin, a place of ancestral significance, and Anjar, Lebanon, as well as the prospect of welcoming Ponta Delgata, of the Azores as a future sister city to Fresno, demonstrate her forward-looking approach and the potenal for new, meaningful relaonships on the horizon. With this impressive track record of dedicaon and commitment to international cooperation, as President is well-prepared to lead Fresno Sister Cities International to even greater heights.
